Resting Among the Thorns & Thistles

God makes even the weeds beautiful. I don’t know about you but that helps to remind me that even when I find myself surrounded by the thorns and the thistles, the Lord stands beside me creating beauty, reminding me of His goodness.

And if He designed the weeds to gain strength by stretching towards the sun, how much more strength awaits me when I, too, turn and stretch towards the Son?

And, there, in the space of that truth, in the space of His goodness, in the space of His promises to me, I can find rest.

“When I was desperate, I called out, and God got me out of a tight spot. God’s angel sets up a circle of protection around us while we pray. Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see—how good God is. Blessed are you who run to him.” Psalm 34:6-8
